"ROB BARTELETTI & FRIENDS" SONGWRITERS SHOWCASE SERIES: Rob welcomes AMEE MCCAA, NICK PEETS, and ROB STROUP on Thursday, November 13, at The White Eagle, at 8 p.m. Nick and Rob S are among Rob B's favorite songwriters, and Amee has recently come to Rob B's attention (Stroup needs a new first name so this writer doesn't have to do the awkward "Rob S/Rob B" thing -- how about "Rocky"...Rocky Stroup...nice ring to it...but back to Amee). Amee's songs and performance will knock your socks off! 'Nuff said -- come on out and see/hear for yourselves. (See poster below.)

PAULA'S GIGS: Besides performing during Happy Hour, from 5:30-7:30 p.m., before each of Rob's (we're talking "Rob B" now) White Eagle gigs, Paula has an extensive oerformance calendar available at both http://sinclairsinclair.com and at http://myspace.com/paulasinclairanduncletumblweed (do you believe someone gave her that myspace name, Eric?). PAULA'S NEW CD, steadygirl TO BE RELEASED IN MARCH 2009: This project matches 5 of Rob's songs with 5 of Paula's, plus a Steve Earle cover. Not to give away any surprises, but Rob is cautiously ecstatic (not very cautiously, either) about this album. Paula's soulful alt-country vocal renditions of all the songs are backed by some of Portland's finest musicians -- in alphabetical order -- Paul Brainard, Tim Ellis, Jean-Pierre Garau, Arthur Parker, Drew Shoals, and Rob Stroup. The project was produced, recorded, and mixed at Stroup's 8 Ball Studio.
Rob S (here we go again) proved why he has been cited in The Oregonian as Portland's hottest producer. He is also just about as humble, patient, and brilliant as anyone can be. Release scheduled for March 2009, with prerelease singles available in the Fall/Winter 2008.
